Harvesting involves pulling the plants to preserve fiber length, followed by "retting," a process that loosens the fibers from the stem. These fibers are then spun into yarn and woven into linen fabric. With its low environmental impact and durable qualities, linen farming offers a valuable contribution to sustainable textile production.

The Linen Weaving Process: Linen yarns are carefully prepared for the loom, often involving warping (preparing the lengthwise threads) and threading (passing the yarns through the loom's heddles).  Weaving itself involves interlacing the warp threads (lengthwise) with the weft threads (crosswise) using a shuttle or other tools.  Techniques vary, from simple plain weave to more intricate patterns like damask or lace.

At first, they gather vibrantly colored leaves and flowers. Rose petals, maple, and eucalyptus are common options. The fabric should next be pre-treated with a mordant to help in the pigments' binding. Placing your selected botanicals on the fabric is the next stage. Rolling the cloth with the botanicals inside is the second-to-last processes. The final process is steaming or boiling, which releases the pigments from the bundle. After that, we delicately unwrap the bundle to expose the imprinted patterns on the fabric.
